Police Busy Over Christmas

Police didn’t have much of a Christmas break, responding to more than 170 calls over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Some last minute Christmas shopper tried to make their Christmas bright, without paying for their items.

A 50-year-old woman was caught trying to steal $160 worth of goods from a Park Ave business Christmas Eve, and a man had lower goals, taking about $20 worth of products from a St. Clair St. Business.

Both charged with shoplifting.

On the 25th, police responded to a home in Chatham to reports a disturbance in the area of Reaume St.

Police found what they describe as a drunk 63-year-old man, who had damaged a front door and threatened the occupants of the home.

He’s facing charges of mischief and uttering threats.
