Police Called After Family Dog Threatened With Knife

Threatening to hurt a family pet has led to charges for a Chatham-Kent man.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Victoria Road home in Ridgetown on Saturday at around 8 a.m. after a man threatened to harm a family’s dog while holding a knife.

Police arrived at the home and, following an investigation, arrested a suspect.

A 27-year-old CK man is now charged with uttering threats to injure an animal.  He was later released from custody with an April court date.
