Police Investigate After Children Allegedly Photographed At Park

Police are reassuring the public that there is no cause for concern after investigating reports of people photographing children without permission at a Chatham park.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a social media post began circulating online on Saturday, calling for police to investigate individuals at Kingston Park who had been taking the photographs.

A number of posts were made on Facebook over the weekend, claiming two women had been taking pictures of girls at Kingston Park in Chatham without consent.

Police officials said the incident has now been investigated and officers have spoken to all of the parties involved. As a result, authorities said there are no grounds for any charges to be laid and there is no further concern for public safety.

“We also want to assure the public that we responded to this incident promptly and that the safety of our community, especially our youth, is a top priority,” police said in a news release.

No further details about the incident have been released.
