Police Investigating Indecent Act At Chatham School

Police are looking for suspects after a man committed an indecent act at an elementary school in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the Major Crime Section is now investigating after receiving a report that a man committed the act at Queen Elizabeth II Public School sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

While the act took place on the Eugenie Street property, authorities said the school was closed at the time and there were no children present.

Police also believe the man was alone at the time.

The suspect is described as a male, between 20 to 40 years old. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt, pants, dark-coloured shoes with a white or light-coloured sole, and a dark backpack. He was also riding a mountain bike at the time of the incident.

Residents in the area are encouraged to review their home surveillance systems and share any footage with police that could assist with the investigation.
