An arrest has been made in connection to a break-and-enter in Chatham-Kent that may be linked to other ongoing investigations.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the break-and-enter at a McNaughton Line address in Chatham Township on Monday at around 10:15 am.
Several tools and a pickup truck were reported stolen from the property, however, the truck was later located at a Longwoods Road trailer park.
Police later obtained and executed a search warrant at a Longwoods Road residence and recovered additional stolen property with an estimated value of $25,000.
Authorities said the stolen property may also be connected to other ongoing break-and-enter investigations and investigators are looking into potential links to other similar incidents.
As a result, a 33-year-old Chatham Township man was arrested and is now charged with break-and-enter, theft over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property, trafficking property obtained by crime and criminal harassment. He was taken to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
