A Wallaceburg man has been charged after allegedly driving with nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers received a report about a possible impaired driver in the area of Fraser Street in Wallaceburg shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday. The vehicle was reportedly being driven erratically before pulling over into a marina.
Officers located the vehicle, and the driver was arrested. He was taken to police headquarters, where a breath test allegedly showed that he had 150 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood.
The 66-year-old Wallaceburg man is now charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood.
The accused was later released with a scheduled court date.
