A Tilbury resident is facing charges after a police licence plate scanner alerted an officer to a suspended driver.
The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer was patrolling Highway 40 on Saturday at around 3:20 p.m., when a passing vehicle set off the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system.
The officer stopped the driver on the highway near Claymore Line and determined that their licence had been suspended.
As a result, a 27-year-old from Tilbury is charged with driving while suspended, driving without insurance, driving without a valid permit, and failing to surrender a permit for a vehicle.
