About 5:30 they received a call about a suspicious man in the area of Churchill Park Road.
They determined the man had threatened two people he didn’t know and fled in his vehicle.
At 9 pm they spotted the vehicle again but the driver took off at a high rate of speed.
Several minutes later they found the car, with a flat tire on King Street, but the man kept driving.
When the car finally stopped, the man refused to come out.
Officer forced their way into the vehicle and pulled him out.
Police say he kicked one officer several times before he was subdued.
He was taken in, and blew over twice the legal limit.
The 52 year old Chatham man was charged with 3 counts of uttering threats, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resist arrest, assault police, and having a blood concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
