Police Seize $23K In Drugs During Bust In Chatham

Thousands of dollars’ worth of illicit drugs have been taken off the streets after police raided a home in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Taylor Avenue on Wednesday as part of a drug investigation.

Four men were arrested and around $23,000 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine were seized. Digital scales, cell phones and a large amount of Canadian currency were also seized by officers.

As a result, a 26-year-old and a 32-year-old from Chatham, along with a 32-year-old and a 31-year-old from Toronto, have been charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of trafficking and one count each of possession of a controlled substance.

All four have been released from custody with conditions and a date in court later this month.
