It’s training day for a number of local police officers in Chatham.
There has been a heavy police presence near the banks of the Thames River along Grand Avenue West today between Victoria Avenue and Curran Crescent.
Members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) have been taking part in ground search training, which officials say is crucial for maintaining the readiness and effectiveness of emergency responders.
Authorities have asked residents to avoid the area until roughly 2pm.
