Coast Guard officials on both sides of the border issued a warning over the weekend, asking people not to take part in the annual event as windy conditions and a fast-moving current could pose problems

American officials say one person was arrested for disorderly conduct, and another for being combative while being helped along the river.

In all, authorities say 168 people were given some kind of assistance, with one woman pulled from the water by the OPP.

Last year, 1500 people had to be rescued after floating over to the Canadian side of the river.
