Local health officials are warning of a possible measles exposure at multiple locations, including a Chatham elementary school.
Chatham-Kent Public Health said a young person who attended Chatham Christian School has tested positive for measles. The families of affected students have been notified, and the health unit is continuing to provide guidance to school personnel.
The following possible exposure points have also been identified by the health unit:

February 15 from 2:35 p.m. to 5:31 p.m. - YMCA Chatham (101 Courthouse Ln., Chatham)
February 25, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Chatham Christian School Celebration of Learning Event (475 Keil Drive S., Chatham)
February 27 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. - Chatham Christian School Discovery Day -Kindergarten Registration – (475 Keil Drive S., Chatham)
February 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. - No Frills Chatham (835 Queen St., Chatham)
March 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Tilbury Walk-In Clinic (15 Mill St. E., Tilbury)
March 5 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and March 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Thamesview Family Health Team (465 Grand Ave W., Chatham ON)
March 5 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and March 6 from 2:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Anyone who is not up-to-date on their vaccinations and was present during these periods is asked to contact CK Public Health at 519-352-7270 ext. 5902.
Those experiencing measles symptoms, including fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes, should call before visiting a healthcare provider, emergency department or walk-in clinic.
The risk of contracting measles remains small as the vast majority of people are vaccinated against the virus. The health unit is urging everyone to ensure they are up-to-date on their vaccinations.
