Powers Says CK Needs Its Own TV Station

Robert Powers is one of the candidates for the mayor’s office in Chatham-Kent this October, and believes Chatham-Kent is made for television.

A major plank in his campaign platform is coming up with a TV station for the municipality.

“I’m talking a hometown, public TV broadcaster,” Powers says. “Somewhere where you can put a paperclip in the back of your TV and get plugged in about everything that’s happening in Chatham-Kent.”

He says until we have our own TV station we won’t be on the map when it comes to business and industry.

Powers says anyone is welcome to come forward with a plan, whether or not it is a major broadcasting affiliate, as long as we are able to get out the story of Chatham-Kent.
