The Kent Federation of Agriculture is looking for some help as Canada’s Agriculture Day approaches.

Each year, the KFA coordinates food donations to support local food banks with the Salvation Army and Outreach for Hunger, assisting local families who are experiencing food shortages or hardships.

Organizers say the annual food drive provides local producers with an opportunity to share their products and help consumers draw a closer connection to where their food comes from and the people who produce it.

Last year, more than $10,000 worth of food and cash was collected to support those in need.

Donations will be accepted on Tuesday, February 10 from 9am until 11am at the Salvation Army Church on Orangewood Boulevard in Chatham.
