Mark Phillips, with the French Catholic board, says the idea is to get kids interested in real-world experience early on.
“Stats show that kids when they become volunteers at a young ages they become life long volunteers,” says Phillips. “So a lot of the projects are really geared around not just about getting involved but giving back to the community so they feel a part of the community.”
The Experiential Learning model runs from kindergarten to grade 12, and give students hands-on learning both in the classroom and in the community.
