At tonight’s Chatham-Kent council meeting, council will talk about possibly purchasing the Downtown Chatham Centre mall in closed session.
Council is allowed to talk about certain things—such as transactions, labour relations, and litigation or potential litigation behind closed doors.
The 40-year-old downtown mall—like a number of downtown malls in Ontario—has struggled over the past 20 years.
The municipality’s decision will eventually come to light at the public open session.
