While a lot of people can kick back in the summer and relax that is not true for the Economic Development office for Chatham-Kent.
Andrew Tompsett is the marketing and communications Officer and says businesses like to stay busy. To help create new connections across Chatham-Kent, the Ec-Dev department is promoting a new take on speed dating.
“A lot of businesses tell us they want to get together, do some networking, do some mingling, but not just networking where people show up and stand around in a corner and you go home and go “well that was a waste of time.” They want some guided networking,” Tompsett says.
The idea is to sit down one-on-one and chat for five minutes, pitch your business or ideas, then move on and be paired up with someone else.
The event gets underway at the Willow Ridge Golf and Country Club in Blenheim at 5:30 Wednesday night.
