The municipality has 35 snowplows operating at present. Officials estimate there are hundreds of stranded cars throughout the municipality.
Police and EMS are attending to calls on a priority basis in terms of risk to life.
Residents are advised to remain at home since crews are busy with existing incidents.
A state of emergency was declared earlier today and the municipality remains under a Significant Snow Event status.
Due to weather conditions yesterday and today, the municipality has placed a 72-hour ban on the parking of vehicles on municipal streets and roads. The ban starts at 2 p.m. today, December 24, and will continue until 2 p.m. on Tuesday. December 27, 2022.
The ban allows more efficient clearing of roads to enable emergency vehicles to have access where needed.
