Prohibited Driver Arrested In Tilbury

A missing licence plate has ultimately led to charges for a Coatsworth man.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Queen Street North in Tilbury on Wednesday at around 8:45 p.m., after it was spotted without a rear license plate.

During the traffic stop, the officer learned the driver had been prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code of Canada and his driver’s licence had also been suspended.

An outstanding warrant had also been issued for his arrest for failing to attend court regarding a probation breach.

As a result, a 42-year-old Coatsworth man was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited and driving under suspension. His vehicle will also be impounded for 45 days.
