A local man will have to answer to a judge in court after a woman’s home and her property were damaged.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham residence for a domestic dispute at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities said an argument between a man and a woman ended when the woman left the home. However, when she returned, the woman found that the man had damaged the interior of the home, along with her personal property.

The man was located and arrested a short time later.

A 24-year-old Chatham man is now charged with two counts of mischief to property. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
