Water Wells First is demanding that the North Kent Wind Project stop, claiming that turbines are to blame for several well water issues in the area.
The North Kent Wind Community Liaison Committee held an open meeting last night, but not before nearly an hour and a half of area residents voicing their concerns.
Dover resident Pete Hensell says he has some reservations about the committee.
“It’s a committee that was formed by the company that does work for the wind company, AECOM,” Hensell says. “They hand-picked the people who sat on the committee.”
Samsung and Pattern Energy – the two main corporations involved in the project – say the members applied to be on the committee, and new members are welcome.
The project started construction last month, with turbine installation to start this September.
