Chatham-Kent’s museum is getting a financial boost from the Ontario government.

The province has announced it will invest $50,000 in the Chatham-Kent Museum Exhibition and Interpretive Plan through the Rural Ontario Development (ROD) program.

The local investment is one of 116 projects across rural Ontario that will receive funding through the first intake of the ROD program.

“These investments will help strengthen our local economy, support job creation, enhance tourism opportunities and preserve important community assets,” said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent–Leamington. “In addition, this funding will help create lasting opportunities for residents, businesses and visitors across Chatham-Kent–Leamington.”

The ROD program is a $20 million investment by the province to strengthen local economies, support rural workers and assist communities in planning for long-term growth.
