Province Keeping Tabs on Erie Shore Drive

Help from upper levels of government could be coming for residents affected by flooding along Erie Shore Drive – eventually.

Ernie Hardeman, Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs joined municipal officials in Chatham-Kent over the weekend, taking a look at some of the damage caused along Erie Shore Drive and speaking with area residents and farmers.

The municipal state of emergency remains in place, but could be lifted later this week, at which point provincial officials would return to do a full assessment.

In the meantime, residents along the shoreline are bracing for another stormy night with winds potentially gusting up to 50 km/hr.
