As students move away to college and university this week, the Ontario government is working on creating a French Language university.
The province, in consultation with the Francophone community, is proposing a new French-Language university in Central and southwestern Ontario.
Officials say they are accepting key recommendations from the French-Language University planning board and they intend to introduce legislation for the University in the coming months.
There are more than 600,000 Francophones in Ontario –the largest population in Canada outside of Quebec.
