A number of local events are being given a funding boost from the province.

Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Trevor Jones recently announced 184,625.00 through the 2025 Experience Ontario program, being divided between Hogs for Hospice in Leamington ($125,000,) the Red Barn Anniversary Concert Series ($19,625,) Buxton Homecoming ($20,000,) and Blenheim Cherry Fest ($20,000.)

In total, Experience Ontario 2025 is supporting more than 350 festivals and events across the province. Officials say the funding helps organizers expand programming and draw visitors to stay longer in local accommodations, eat in restaurants, shop at local retailers, and support main street businesses.

“Our government recognizes the tremendous value that festivals and events add to our community,” said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington. “Through this funding, families and individuals have opportunities to gather and celebrate together, while supporting local businesses.”

Since 2021, the Ministry’s Experience Ontario program (formerly known as Reconnect Ontario and Celebrate Ontario) has supported over 2,000 Ontario festivals and events.
