Although Ontario’s next general election is still a year and a half away, the provincial Liberal party is getting its ducks in a row.
The Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Provincial Liberal Association has scheduled a nomination meeting on Thursday, October 24th to name Cathy Burghardt-Jesson as its official candidate.
Burghardt-Jesson, the current mayor of Lucan Biddulph, ran for the Liberal party in last spring’s provincial by-election to replace former MPP Monte McNaughton. She placed second in the May 2nd vote behind PC candidate Steve Pinsonneault, garnering 12.97% of the vote.
Ontario’s 44th general election is scheduled to be held on June 4, 2026.
