Public Input Sought On Proposed Tilbury Dog Park

Local residents are being asked to provide their input on a proposed off-leash dog park in Tilbury.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent said the public is invited to provide its comments online on the “Dog Off-Leash Recreation Area” until 4:30 p.m. on March 26.

The proposal to install the dog park at Kirkham Park on the site of the former ball diamond was submitted by a local volunteer group.

The park would consist of a fenced area where residents can allow their dogs off their leashes within a controlled environment without contravening municipal bylaws.

There are currently two off-leash dog parks in the municipality; Happy Tails Off-Leash Dog Park in Wallaceburg and John Waddell Dog Park in Chatham. A third park located in Dresden has been approved but construction has not yet commenced.

Comments from the public on the proposed park in Tilbury can be submitted by clicking here. All public input will be included in a future report to CK Council for consideration.
