A frank conversation about some challenging issues in the community is taking place in Wallaceburg this week.

In partnership with Reach Out Chatham-Kent (R.O.C.K.), Trinity United Church is hosting a public meeting to talk about the stigma associated with substance use, homelessness, and mental health.

ROCK mission staff and local volunteers will be on hand, alongside community members who have experienced some of the stigma around homelessness and substance use. Training in overdose response and tips on non-judgmental interactions will be provided, followed by a question and answer session.

After the formal presentation, refreshments will be served, providing time for attendees to talk and get more information as desired.

Everything gets underway at 6:30 Thursday evening at Trinity United Church on Wellington Street.
