Reach Out Chatham-Kent is looking to renew its contract to run the Homeless-Serving Day Program in Wallaceburg.
The contract for R.O.C.K’s community program expired in March, and the organization was the sole bidder on the Request for Proposals that was posted in February.
The Homeless-Serving Day Program provides a warm, welcoming, and accessible drop-in space for low-income individuals, families, and others experiencing homelessness. The purpose of the program is to provide support while “fostering trusted relationships and connecting participants to housing, mental health, addiction and other community supports.”
Council will vote to approve R.O.C.K’s bid of $73,000 per year for two years to run the program, with two optional one-year extensions.
R.O.C.K was asked to revise its initial proposal, including a reduction of weekly staffing hours from 30 to 24, lower training costs, and fewer food and program materials.
