Rain Rain, Go Away

It’s a sloppy morning around Chatham-Kent.

With rain dousing already swollen creeks and rivers, conservation authority officials are keeping a close eye on area waterways.

In Chatham, the McGregor Creek dam was closed to divert flood water around the city, and waves were pounding the Lake Erie shoreline overnight.

In the Brigden area, Waterworks Road between Courtright Line and Moore Line has been closed because of flooding.

Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to saturated and slippery banks as well as the danger of swift moving water.
