Real Estate Market Remains Hot

It continues to be a sellers’ game in Chatham-Kent.

Despite a 30% drop in the number of homes sold last month, officials say prices remain high.

President Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors, Steve Carrol says despite the fact the average price shot to another record in November suggests a lack of supply continues to play a lead role in the current market.

The average price of homes sold last month was $243,905, 30.8% higher than November 2017. The year-to-date average price was $214,082, rising 17.2% from the first 11 months of last year.

There were 109 new residential listings in November, up seven properties compared year-over-year, but still below all other November levels dating back to 1988.
