Victoria Playhouse in Petrolia is teaming up with Community Living to present a “relaxed performance” next month.
Community Living Wallaceburg Executive Director Deborah Hook says the show makes it easier for some families to enjoy a night at the theatre.
“The relaxed performances are specifically designed to accommodate people with intellectual learning disabilities, sensory processing conditions, and autism. The lights are a little bit lighter, the noises are a little bit softer, and it is definitely more inclusive for people that may have issues with going to a regular performance,” says Caron.
Community Living Wallaceburg spokesperson Lisa Caron says they are teaming up with the theatre to present a “relaxed performance” of Good Ol’ Country Gospel on May 10th.
“This show is outside of the regular circuit. The actors and the musicians have come together to work with us to step outside and really create an environment for families who typically cant go to the theatre, can’t sit for the whole performance. There’s a chill area in the back for people to getup and go out they need to. Everything is more relaxed,” Caron says.
The performance will be held on Thursday, May 10th at 7:30.
Tickets are $85 per family, or $28 for individuals.
