Chatham-Kent Police are investigating after thieves targeted a local animal rescue group.
Someone broke into an Edgar Street home earlier this morning, stealing a large amount of dog and cat food, along with pet supplies including leashes and collars.
The supplies were owned by the group Pet and Wildlife Rescue, which is set to take over the municipality’s animal control contract for Chatham and South Kent tomorrow.
As police search for the suspects, the rescue group is looking to restock its shelves.
