Residents Approve of Latest Crosswalk Change

Local residents seem pleased with the latest change to the intersection of Murray and Reaume in Wallaceburg.

Crews installed a new pedestrian-activated stop light at the corner late last week, with school kids giving it a go for the first time yesterday.

Wallaceburg resident Krystal Gyuricza led the charge to have the new traffic light installed, and says drivers are getting used to stopping when someone needs to cross.

“Pretty much everybody did stop,” Gyuricza says of the first day with kids back to school. “A couple people went through after there was nobody on the road, so it’s just getting them to realize there is that stoplight there now.”

Gyuricza says kids are getting used to the change as well, and she’s pleased that the intersection is now safer for everyone.
