A quiet ride will be speaking volumes about road safety in Ridgetown tonight.
The Ride of Silence aims to encourage motorists to be more aware of cyclists sharing the road, and remembering those who have been injured or killed in collisions.
Organizers say that although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn’t aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.
Cyclists are invited to meet at the Ridgetown Campus agronomy building at 6:30, and the 10 km ride begins at 7 o’clock.
The event, hosted locally by the Ontario 4H Foundation, is one of over 200 taking place across the world.
