The Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is a big step closer to its goal for new diagnostic imaging equipment.
The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown has donated $25,000 to the campaign.
President Dr John Button says Chatham-Kent residents deserve the best when it comes to medical equipment and services.
“If we don’t offer health professionals the best, we’re not going to attract the best, and that’s what this is all about,” Button says. “Those of us who have been so blessed need to be a blessing to others.”
The money was raised through golf tournaments, a fall craft show, bake sales, and other events.
The Foundation’s executive director says she’s humbled by the donation.
“It is amazing what a group of passionate volunteers can accomplish,” Mary Lou Crowley says, “and the lasting impact of their dedication will live on in the equipment we will be providing to the community.”
To date, the DI campaign has raised 5.5 million of its 6.9 million dollar goal.
