Starting on Tuesday, the Highway 40-401 interchange will be closed until mid-November, but Supervisor of Tourism Shannon Paiva says it’s a chance to take the road less traveled.
“We’re fortunate to have an easy access point, but I think it’s a great opportunity for people to say, ‘You know what? Let’s stop here and actually discover our area’. Then when the construction is done 8 to 9 months from now, it’s an opportunity then to look at how easy it was to take the little off-beaten path”, Paiva says.
A series of digital maps and other promotional items will be released to highlight areas of interest along what municipal officials call “alternate routes.”
