Rose Beach Line will remain closed for at least another year.
Director of Engineering Chris Thibert says after a slope/bank failure in November, the road which goes between Morpeth and Rondeau was closed to traffic.
Now, the environmental assessment for that failure will be put on hold until 2020 to allow for the Lake Erie Shoreline Study to be completed.
That study deals with assessing the effects of climate change on the shoreline, and how to find solutions to mitigate coastal risks such as erosion and threats to natural assets.
No detour is put in place, but Talbot Trail and Kent Bridge Road are alternate routes.
