Royal Fine Dining For A Good Cause

A night of fine dining and generosity is set to take place in support of Chatham-Kent’s hospital.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s (CKHAF) 18th Annual Parade of Chefs will be held at The Chatham Armoury on Thursday.

Guests will be treated to local food and drink, along with live entertainment. The theme of the event is “A Royal Affair with Local Flair” and will feature guest chef Darren McGrady who served as the personal chef for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Diana, Princess of Wales, and Princes William and Harry for 15 years.

CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall said events like the highly anticipated Parade of Chefs, help to ensure the local hospital can continue to provide needed services in the community.

“Probably most people are aware that the government doesn’t give us all of the funding that we need in order to provide the services that we do, particularly for things like equipment [and] buildings,” said Marshall, citing the ongoing redevelopment project at CKHA’s Wallaceburg site.

Proceeds from the Parade of Chefs will support the purchase of an ORTHO VISION – Swift Analyzer for the Laboratory Transfusion Medicine Department at CKHA.

“We thought this was a good one because it relates to almost every different service that we have at both the sites, whether it is somebody that is coming in a trauma situation in our emergency departments [or] whether it’s someone receiving service in our cancer program,” said Marshall.

The last Parade of Chefs fundraiser was held back in 2019.
