The Salvation Army is saying thanks to its volunteers. 
Captain Karen Holland says the organization is holding a series of volunteer appreciation events in the next few weeks.
“We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our volunteers,” Holland says. “Our daily help in the food banks and the thrift stores, and especially at Christmas time we depend solely on volunteers for manning our kettles, and that’s our major fundraiser for the year so without our volunteers we’d be in pretty sorry shape.”
The volunteer appreciation events are open to anyone who has given their time to the organization over the past year.
Holland is asking volunteers to RSVP for their respective events.
