Salvation Army Needs Coats

It may still be early September, but the Salvation Army is encouraging area residents to start thinking about colder weather.

Captain Karen Holland says they’ll being collecting coats for Operation Cover Up later this month.

“I know with the weather the way it is, it’s hard to think winter coats but thinking ahead we have to have that collection period.  Last year too, it was warm well into collection time so people aren’t looking to replace winter coats.”

The collection period runs from September 30^th to October 26^th.

In the meantime, a pair of events are taking place in support of the Salvation Army next weekend. The Gold Wing Road Riders will be holding a food drive and toy ride on September 14^th and 15^th respectively.
