Impaired driving charges have been laid after the local police department was tipped off by fellow officers in Sarnia.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service was notified by police in Sarnia on Monday at around 7:30 p.m. about a potential impaired driver who was likely in the Chatham area.
Officers located and stopped a vehicle on St. Clair Street and arrested the driver, who was showing signs of impairment. He was taken to police headquarters for additional tests.
As a result, a 41-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released with a December court date.
