Scholarships Available For Artistic Students In CK

A local group is supporting students seeking post-secondary education in the arts and culture field with two scholarships.

The Chatham-Kent Arts & Culture Network (CKACN) is once again offering its Emerging Youth Artist Scholarship Awards, with two $1,500 scholarships being granted to graduating or recently graduated high school students from any secondary school in Chatham-Kent.

To apply, students must be between 16-20 years old and studying in an arts-related discipline, including performing and literary arts, arts administration, and the recording arts.

“The importance of supporting emerging artists through programs like our artist scholarship cannot be emphasized enough,” said CKACN Board Chair Laurie Langford. “It is critical to the development of careers, and the future of the creative sector.”

Applications can be filled out online and submitted any time before the deadline of 11:59 p.m. on June 13.  Students will need to include a minimum of three works in their area of expertise.

Submissions will be assessed by a scholarship committee consisting of CKACN Board Members and the CK Arts and Culture Heroes committee. The two winners will be recognized at the Chatham-Kent Arts Council’s Heroes Wall of Fame event on October 23, 2025, at the Chatham Cultural Centre.
