With the possibility of more school closures in Chatham-Kent, one local Conservative is seeing red.
MPP Rick Nicholls says the area has been left out of upcoming provincial consultations on the issue.
A series of meetings are being held across Ontario next month, with the closest one taking place in Amherstburg.
“Our community has been gutted by the possibility of school closures,” Nicholls says, “including Ridgetown and Blenheim high schools, 3 public schools in Leamington and an additional 6 separate schools and several public schools in my hometown of Chatham-Kent.”
He says the least Ontario’s Education Minister can do is meet with local parents face-to-face.
Nicholls is also calling for an immediate moratorium on school closures, and a review of pupil accommodation review guidelines, which he says are flawed.
