For the third time this month, a local student is facing charges in connection to a fight at school.
Chatham-Kent Police were called to Chatham-Kent Secondary School early Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say the suspect followed the victim and allegedly attacked her without provocation until bystanders intervened.
Wednesday night, the 14-year-old turned herself in to police. She has now been charged with assault and was released to her parents with conditions and a future court date.
On November 28, a hold and secure was put in place after an altercation between two students at King George VI Public School. A 13-year-old has since been charged with assault. And a 17-year-old was arrested following a fight in a high school parking lot on November 8.
