A group of elementary students in Blenheim is helping to support those in need in their community.

Students at St Anne Catholic School recently unveiled a new social justice food pantry, which officials with the St Clair Catholic District School Board describe as a beacon of hope, providing essential non-perishable food items to those in need.

The project was spearheaded by Mrs. Friesen, who leads the school’s Social Justice Group.

“I wanted to bring an experience to the students that would impact them in a way that nurtures giving back to their very own community,” Friesen said. “Students can give back to the community of Blenheim for years to come now that this pantry has been established.”

“The Social Justice Food Pantry at St. Anne, Blenheim is a wonderful example of how schools can lead the way in nurturing compassion and support for those in need,” added Scott Johnson, Director of Education. This project reflects our shared commitment to making a positive impact in the community.”

Posters are being placed around Blenheim raising awareness about the project and inviting local residents to contribute to the pantry and support those in need.
