The start of the school year can be a stressful time for parents, especially when money is tight.
The United Way of Chatham-Kent says it’s already received over 16-hundred request for assistance through its Operation BackPack program, providing school supplies for families in need.
In particular, the organization says it is most in need of pens, crayons, duotangs, and lined paper.
The deadline to have all donations collected is August 25th.
