Schools To Remain Closed For The School Year

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced this afternoon because of the pandemic, the schools will not reopen this year.

He said he thought long and hard about it, and listened carefully to the medical experts before making the decision.

“This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but it was the right decision. We have made the decision to put our kids safety first, and at the same time we have a plan to make sure that our children’s education can continue outside of the class room. At home learning will continue. All students from grades K through 12 will receive a report card.”

He also announced day care centres will remain closed for the time being, and overnight Summer camps will not open this year.

Day camps, will open in July as long as the current trends continue. Strict social distancing protocols would be in place.
