Survivors of stroke will be learning how to tap into their inner superhero today.  stroke-congress

The second Stroke Survivor congress is being held today for patients, their families, caregivers, and health care professionals.

Nancy Snobelen, director of Service Integration at the Health Alliance, says the theme of the event is “Creating a Super You” and says a number of guest speakers will be entertaining and inspiring the crowd.

“One of the keynote speakers is Dr Steven Macaluso, he’s a physiatrist at Parkwood Institute in London,” Snobelen says. “He’s going to be talking how exercise can transform you into your super self after stroke.”

Other presenters at today’s event include staff from the New Beginnings Clubhouse as they design a crystal cave “where energy builds and good things happen.”

The event, being held at the St Clair College Healthplex, is put on by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and New Beginnings Acquired Brain Injury and Stroke Recovery Association.
