Seed Program Returns CK Library

The local library is helping to ensure everyone can create beautiful spaces in their backyard.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library has relaunched its CKPL Grows Seed Library, a program offering a small variety of native plant seeds that are available for check out.

Library officials said the program allows residents to borrow free seeds to grow healthy gardens and have access to affordable flowers.

Beginning on September 2, anyone with a valid library card can check out five packages of plant seeds at any branch of the CKPL. Many popular local plants are available, including Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly Weed, Swamp and Common Milkweed, Purple Coneflower, and New England Asters, among others.
